Certainly, there are a few things we can do daily to help reduce the discomfort of extremely dry skin. For one, using a gentle face and body cleanser and being extra careful to dab the skin instead of rubbing it harshly will help minimize red, rough skin. Drinking plenty of water and following a diet rich in vitamins can also help to keep your entire body hydrated. However, to be 100% hydrated during winter’s coldest months, your face, body, lips and hands need some additional gentle-but-effective emollients.
Dermophisiologique to the rescue!
Thankfully, Dermophisiologique’s skin experts in Italy have developed a suite of all-natural and deeply penetrating moisturizing products so you can enjoy the luxury of having smooth, soft and radiant skin, especially during the winter months.
Here is the Dermo-pH skin experts’ hydration survival list to protect your hands, lips and face this winter. They recommend:
With this seasonal hydration survival kit at your fingertips, you will find yourself better able to handle winter’s shorter days and colder temps. Just don’t forget your mittens and drink plenty of water!
]]>Hypermelanosis is the name that skin experts give to discolorations of the skin, more commonly known as aging spots. Brownish spots on the surface of the skin are a normal consequence of aging for both men and women due to a malfunction (or change) in melanin levels. Melanin refers to the group of natural pigments in most organisms and is the most dominant skin pigmentation agent that humans have. Importantly, it also provides protection against the sun’s ultraviolet rays. Melanogenesis, by definition, is the production of the melanin pigments produced by cells called melanocytes.
There are many causes that can lead to a change in melanin cellular activity or synthesis which can result in the formation of darker spots and other discolorations on the skin’s surface. These triggers can include hormonal changes such as those that naturally occur during pregnancy or menopause, excessive or prolonged sun exposure, the natural effects of aging on skin, or the use of photo-sensitizing drugs or chemicals.
In nearly every case, these spots cannot disappear with just a single topical treatment, such as applying an abrasive exfoliant or peeling treatment, which can eliminate the superficial imperfection temporarily but does not treat or correct the origin of the skin condition. It is therefore important to adopt preventive measures on a daily basis that stop the appearance of aging spots, or at least avoid their eventual deepening and spreading.
Dermo-pH has developed a 3-step program to diminish or erase aging spots
The skin experts at Dermophisiologique have formulated Chrono Age® White, a plant-based, deep-penetrating product line that delivers a brightening action and has been proven effective in diminishing aging spots across all skin tones and skin types.
Chrono Age® White’s innovative formulation includes active ingredients (which are present in very high concentrations, up to 20%) combined with naturally derived acids and the Vitamin A-C-E complex. Together these ingredients work to diminish established brown spots and reduce the formation of new ones – while evening out skin tones and promoting cell renewal.
Dermo-pH Chrono Age® White product line includes three dermatologically- tested and scientifically-proven-effective products: Skin Photocontrol Serum, Skin Photoblock SPF30 and Skin Normalizer Cream. A team of skin experts, based in the Dermophisiologique laboratory in Italy, recommends layering each product two times daily following this routine to combat the effects of hyperpigmentation:
Dermo-pH’s expert dermatologists also recommend applying Chrono Age® White Skin Photoblock SPF30 as a calming and restorative treatment following any dermo-abrasive treatments and to shield against further UVB/UVA sun damage.
The daily use of Chrono Age® White products delivers a proven and effective defense against age spots and prevents future hyperpigmentation damage by ultraviolet rays, leaving your skin luminous and brightened, with a more balanced skin tone. Now what could be better than that?
]]>We all know that as time passes, the skin's firmness, elasticity and brightness (aka radiance) gradually diminish due to the damaging external effects that our skin faces each day, and it also depletes due to internal factors. As we age, the dermis weakens, and collagen fibers and elastin deteriorate and lose their ability to renew themselves as readily as they did in youth. But this doesn’t mean you have to give up! Instead, it is wise to understand which defensive ingredients your skin needs you to incorporate into your daily routine to combat aging as time marches on.
Hope springs eternal
Dermophisiologique’s skin experts are ready to respond to your skin’s every need from the teenage years to the golden years, and everything in between. For maturing skin, our dermatologists have formulated three highly effective anti-age lines specific to each age group, beginning at age 30.
1] Coēo Line for the busy career and family years (ages 30-40)
Dermo-pH’s Coēo line was specifically designed to treat the first signs of sagging, relaxed skin. It is the perfect plumping formula for those who are beginning to show signs of stress in the face, thanks to all-natural ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid combined with mineral salts, amino acids, vitamins and natural sugars.
2] Aeterna Line for the mature, active years (ages 40 to 50)
The Aeterna line, is ideal for re-sculpting, re-hydrating and re-boosting the skin’s weakening cellular structure as time passes, thanks to Dermo-pH’s exclusively patented Gp4g® complex which is directly extracted from Artemia. You can think of it as having the effect of a natural face lift, without having to have surgery.
3] Control C5 Line for the modern elder, active years (ages 50 and beyond)
The products in Dermo-pH’s Control C5 line are ideal for the mature woman (in age and experience) who is eager to slow down the effect of deep lines and wrinkles. In fact, thanks to the presence of Cyclopeptide-5, with its replenishing, intense restructuring action, this plant-based formulation offers the mature woman a unique opportunity to take years off her visage, for a more youthful, radiant appearance.
The 7 Commandments of healthy skincare for all ages
In addition to selecting the best anti-aging creams on the market for each stage in life, there are a few important tips to keep in mind in order to help give your skin the best chance to fight the effects of aging:
When it comes to pollution, we usually think of smog and gaseous emissions from cars and carbon-heavy industries, but it is important to remember that, in addition to external pollutants, there is another form of pollution that literally hits us closer to home: internal pollutants. Internal pollution is emitted constantly throughout the day by factors out of our control, such as second-hand cigarette smoke, cooking & heating gas emissions, household cleaning products, dust, animal hair and blue light ( i.e. the radiation generated by electronic and digital devices such as monitors, tablets, smartphones and PCs) that all must be somehow absorbed by our bodies and the environment around us and can have a damaging affect our health and wellbeing.
The skin, the largest organ in the body, certainly performs as a natural and critical absorption buffer and is our main external defense against UV rays and environmental pollutants. The combined effects of UV rays and other pollutants alter the skin’s physiological barrier, helping to significantly accelerate the symptoms of skin aging. Together these polluting factors increase oxidative stress with a greater production of free radicals and decrease collagen and elastin levels resulting in the consequent loss of skin tone, firmness and elasticity. In addition, when not properly treated, skin alterations such as hyperpigmentation, eczema, allergies and contact dermatitis may arise from lack of pollution prevention techniques.
The Chrono Age® Cellular Repair System Line developed by Dermophisiologique is the perfect solution to protect your skin from these harmful irritants. Thanks to a careful combination of active ingredients, Chrono Age® Cellular Repair System restores and protects the skin, while guaranteeing a more luminous appearance.
These three easy steps will help ensure you’re protecting your skin against internal and external pollutants as you navigate through your busy day.
Step 1: Apply Chrono Age® Repairing Face Cream to cleansed face. Chrono Age’s emulsion is infused with antioxidant and revitalizing action to stimulate your cellular metabolism.
Step 2: Next apply Chrono Age® URBAN BASE Face SPF20. Thanks to Dermo-pH’s exclusive 4UV-Defense ™ sunscreen system, your skin is guaranteed a daily defense from UV rays, while KEL -3 Complex™ creates an effective barrier against atmospheric pollution, simultaneously minimizing imperfections, fine lines and enlarged pores.
Step 3: Finally, once a week, apply Chrono Repair Mask, Dermo-pH’s new innovative face mask which is developed from Biocellulose soaked in a serum to give your skin an effective shielding, illuminating and anti-aging action. This mask’s exclusive formula contains the revolutionary active ingredient Pollustop®, a polysaccharide capable of acting as a "shield,” protecting the skin from the harmful affects of atmospheric pollutants.
Consider Chrono Age® Cellular Repair System and these three easy steps to be your own personal shield against everyday stressors and pollutants as you face the world each morning!
]]>As we all know, the human body is made up of trillions of cells, constantly reproducing, depleting and replenishing themselves as we move through our days and sleep through our nights. Collagen is composed of amino acids bound together to form a triple helix of elongated fibrils, known as a collagen helix. These fibrils together create, in essence, a "brick wall" of connective tissue which is essential for the healthy formation of skin, tendons, bones, teeth, hair and cartilage as our bodies are growing and maturing.
As one ages, the body’s spontaneous production of collagen slows down and there is a natural loss of proteins within these connective tissues that reside in the dermis layer of skin which result in a loosening effect on the outer layers of the epidermis. In other words, wrinkles and sagging skin begin to appear on the face and neck. Due to the loss of these intrinsic proteins, the skin becomes less elastic and compact, hair loses its shine and muscles and bones experience a slow process of degradation as time passes. In addition to natural aging, there can be other factors which lead to collagen reduction. which can include premature aging, hormonal imbalances and environmental stresses. But there is hope!
Introducing Xtratone by Dermophisiologique
The cosmetic dermatologists at Dermophisiologique have good news for you! These natural aging effects on the outer layers of skin can be counteracted with innovative, all-natural products like the newly introduced Xtratone line. Xtratone assists the body’s natural firming action against atony (loss of muscle tone) and sagging skin thanks to Dermo-pH’s patented ingredient ATiPenergy ®. ATiPenergy® stimulates collagen synthesis, while the combination of two exclusive active ingredients, Matrikina and Ceramide 2, counteract the loss of tone and restructure the “masonry” of the brick wall of skin cells as they were originally meant to be structured and supported.
Skin experts agree that Dermophisiologique’s new Xtratone product line is a ground-breaking and innovative solution for the face and décolleté which delivers immediate effect when applied consistently as part of a daily organic skincare routine. In fact, this exclusive emulsion has been proven to increase collagen production by 41 times in just 48 hours.
More than just an anti-aging skin care cream, Dermo-pH’s Xtratone product line is a scientific miracle at your fingertips!
]]>Oily skin gets a bad rap. In fact, we all have levels of sebum-producing agents in our skin which are essential to keeping our skin well-balanced and hydrated. Sebum – which is a complex mixture of fatty acids, sugars, waxes and other natural chemicals such as cholesterol which is produced by the Sebaceous glands – helps form a protective barrier against too much water evaporation. Oftentimes, it’s when these functional components are out of balance that one experiences excessive oily skin, such as during adolescence or during period of high stress. Others are born with excessively oily skin due to genetic factors out of their control. To add to the “bad rap” image, sometimes sebum mixes with dead skin cells and tiny particles of dust around one’s face and scalp which can lead to “seborrheic skin,” or what many people refer to as dandruff. But, regardless of the cause, there is something you can do to get your sebum production back in balance!
What’s the solution?
First and foremost, it’s important to start your routine with a non-aggressive, non-soap cleanser that’s suitable for oily skin. The skin must be calmed, moisturized and toned and then the sebum production can be normalized as part of a twice daily beauty or grooming routine.
Dermophisiologique has created the Seboline line of products to help you control and counter the root causes for seborrheic (dry) or excessively oily skin. The all-natural ingredients in the Seboline have the ability to gently take action on the physiological and anatomical changes that can cause skin damage or ruptures.
Seboline consists of four products with active ingredients, each in high concentration, plus the exclusive patented Pentalpha® to normalize sebum production, as well as Pyruvic and Salicylic Acids and a mix of minerals with sebostatic action:
Applied morning and night to gently cleansed skin, Seboline products help guarantee healthier, more balanced skin and will give you greater confidence to face each day.
]]>Vitamin C serum for the skin is one of the best anti-aging ingredients you can add to your daily skincare routine. Now all you need is to find the best one!
Vitamin C – or Ascorbic Acid – has been proven to have many beneficial properties for the healthier functioning of our bodies, and now, as a result of decades of research, we know Vitamin C should be an essential part of our daily skincare routine.
"Did you know that ..."
Even though you may be getting enough Vitamin C in your nutritional diet, it may not be directly benefiting your skin. That’s why you need Vita C Serum by Dermophisiologique.
With its antioxidant properties, Vita C Serum counteracts the effect of free radicals, revitalizes and improves the elasticity of the skin by stimulating the production of collagen, protects the skin from ultraviolet rays and fights the consequences of toxic substances such as smoke and pollution. In addition, its natural acidity accelerates cell turnover by stimulating the skin at the deepest layers, preventing new age spots and lightening existing ones, leaving your overall complexion looking brighter and more balanced.
A miracle serum? No, we’re simply leveraging what nature has provided, via science
Dermo-pH’s Vita C Serum’s concentrated formula contains 25% Vitamin C encapsulated in plant-based liposomes which are able to reach the deepest layers of the skin via our patented nanotechnology. In addition, thanks to the synergy with Hyaluronic Acid, it delivers an intense antioxidant and restructuring action against the agents that trigger the aging process, leaving the skin more radiant, compact and visibly younger looking after repeated treatments.
Simply put, Vita C Serum is the perfect easy-to-apply ingredient to give your aging skin new vitality!
]]>Skin experts and novices alike know it is not easy to treat sensitive skin, especially during the cold months. At times it may seem like a Sisyphean task, but this is not actually true: the secret lies in understanding why your skin reacts this way so that you can put into practice the most effective strategies of daily care. This is the only way you can stop irritating your skin and prevent harmful reactions to external stimuli.
So why does skin become so irritable?
There are many reasons for this: some are genetically-based, that is, when our DNA produces skin with an imbalance in hydrolipid film, or we have a thin stratum corneum, or our bodies produce an inadequate amount of intercorneocyte cement, all of which can result in imperfect or hypersensitive skin. Alternatively, we might have seborrhoeic (or scaly) skin, where excessive production of sebum results in a net reduction of the skin's natural moisturizing defenses.
Oftentimes, as well, our skin reacts to external factors, such as excessively dry weather or air conditioning, harsh chemicals and synthetics that are found in many store-bought soaps and cosmetics, lack of hydration and too much sun – the list goes on and on.
What can we do to combat these affects?
The answer is really very simple. Treat your sensitive skin like you would treat a dear friend in need: with gentleness and respect. These are the best two guiding words that we can think of for the correct treatment of sensitive skin: 1] use gentle cleansing products that do not abuse your skin with harsh soaps or alcohol, and 2] gravitate toward all-natural products that respect your skin, whilst also respecting the planet.
Sensiderm to the rescue
Dermophisiologique offers you Sensiderm, a full line of sensitive skin products for the face and body that are nickel-tested and PEG-free (no polyethylene glycol), and are rich with active, plant-based ingredients to stimulate and strengthen the skin's protective barrier in a natural way:
Daily use of Dermo-pH’s Sensiderm face and beauty products for sensitive skin has been proven to strengthen skin, reduce redness, soothe itchiness, and lessen the visible effects seborrhoeic skin, such as rosacea and scaling.
]]>“The skin surrounding the eyes and lips tends to age more quickly than in other areas of the face since it is much more delicate and subject to continuous movement caused by constant changes in facial expression,” Dr. Redealli explains. “Low epidermal defenses make this skin particularly sensitive and easily affected by external irritants (wind, cold dry air, the sun) which can lead to various skin problems. Lines, puffiness and dark circles are some of the most common problems confronting both men and women in the area around the eyes.”
Let’s examine what lies behind these skin concerns, and how you can combat or slow down this diminishing effect by implementing the most effective all-natural skincare products and optimize your daily anti-aging routine.
Lines
Lines look like permanent linear furrows in the skin. These can vary in number and depth depending on your age and lifestyle. They can be classified as expression lines, also called “crow's feet” around the eyes, or “lipstick lines” around the lips, which form as the result of repeated contraction of the Mimic muscles and they tend to get deeper over time. Then there are gravity lines, typically caused by chrono-aging (or “the march of time”), when the underlying structures supporting the skin start to sag. Adding to this (for sun worshippers or those in warm, sunny climates), can be deepening Actinic lines which are the result too much sun exposure on the skin.
Bags under the eyes
Bags under the eyes are greyish blue shadow-like marks which are formed by the slowing down of micro-circulation in the lymphatic and/or venous (or vein) section of the lower eye area. As a result, fluid and blood builds up and deposit darkening pigments under the skin, producing smudge-like marks under the eyes and giving one a look of fatigue or exhaustion.
Puffiness
Puffy eyes are caused by excessive water retention in the eye area and by a weakening of the tissues surrounding the eye muscles that support the eyelids. As the years go by, the tissues and muscles near our eyes get weaker, the skin tends to sag, and the fatty tissue that is normally supporting the eye area begins to slip down, under the eye, leading to a build-up of fluids which can cause classic eye-puffiness.
To help prevent these common beauty concerns in the eye and lip areas one must pay extra special attention to hydrating the skin and replenishing cells in these regions. Understanding the importance of this region of the face, the skin experts at Dermophisiologique have recently boosted the formulations of its highly-regarded Optyma line, adding new skin friendly active principles that are functional and patented. These new active ingredients include TRI-SOLVE® and Symcalmin®, which have been tested over and over again to be effective[1] with diminishing fine lines, sagging skin and puffy eyes when used as part of your daily or nightly skincare routine.
Optyma Anti-Aging Cream, with its “cosmetic lifting effect” and an even lighter texture than before, is quickly absorbed, making it ideal for treating most skin imperfections around the eyes, such as sagging, puffiness, dark circles, wrinkles andexpression lines. Applied morning and night, it is suitable for even the most sensitive of skins and also for wearers of contact lenses.
Dermatologically tested. Micro-biologically tested. Opthalmologically tested.
Optyma Cream Mask has a smooth, velvety finish and provides immediate relief for tired, stressed skin in the eye and lip areas. It is recommended that a weekly treatment helps relax and soothe any redness and irritation in the eye and lip areas. Directions: Apply gently to cleansed skin and leave on for 10 minutes, once per week. The Optyma Cream Mask will absorb into skin and does not need to be rinsed off.
]]>1] Cleansing is key
You may be tempted to skip this step or just wash your face in the shower with body soap purchased from the drug store. Detergent-based soaps can often be too harsh and dehydrating to your skin and can leave a film residue which creates a barrier to allowing more nourishing products to fully absorb into the skin. For this reason, we recommend a twice-daily cleansing routine using Aqualife Multi-Active Face Cleanser. It is a soothing, hydrating, soap-free face wash that effectively removes impurities and moisturizes your skin. This popular Dermo-pH facial cleanser is considered by experts to be one of the best facial cleansers available for oily skin. It is ideally formulated for dehydrated skin but is also effective for all skin types and skin tones.
2] Don’t forget to take your vitamins!
After your gentle cleansing routine, the next step to reaching your skin perfection goals is to boost and stimulate your skin’s metabolism. For this step, our skin experts have two suggestions which you can use independently or layer on together for extra nourishment and cell renewal:
3] Repair & Moisturize
Now that your skin is clean and drenched with vitamins, it’s time to reward and repair it with Chrono Age® Repair Face Cream – one of the industry’s best moisturizers and anti-aging creams available for face and neck. It is produced with an exclusive formula designed to optimize cellular repair and regulate the skin’s aging functions by boosting its natural defenses. Chrono Age® Repair Face Cream has been proven to prevent wrinkles, hydrate skin and reduce the pigmentation and redness that is often caused by environmental triggers.
4] Get Ready for your Close-up
The final step before applying makeup (if indeed you even wear makeup these days! With more radiant skin, you may not want to cover it up…) or stepping out to face the world is smoothing out your complexion and evening your skin tone. Dermo-pH’s Chrono Age® Urban Base Coloured SPF 20 is fragrance-free and preservatives-free and is ideal as a makeup primer to smooth out and even skin tone and protect the skin against external agents such as pollution, fine dust and UV rays. It has a light-to-medium tint of color and blends in perfectly across diverse complexion shades to better even out all skin tones.

In the northern hemisphere, the end of summer oftentimes comes with a fog of atmospheric humidity and that greatly affects the water content in the stratum corneum, or the outer layer of the epidermis. Your skin (especially oily skin) can over-index on moisture. On the rough heels of humidity season, drier, blustery colder air follows steamy air which is enough to jack-knife your delicate skin into a traumatic state; that is, unless you do something about it in advance of any potential harm done.
Dermophisoligique’s skin experts are committed to helping you understand your own skin better: how it works, how to keep it healthy and radiant, and how to minimize the signs of aging.
Our skin’s natural defenses are not enough…so we turn to the science of nature
Most people don’t know that much of the water content that keeps the skin hydrated does not come from outside elements, but rather it escapes from the blood vessels that are circulating in the dermis and binds to dermal proteins, collagen and elastin, among other structural proteins.
To protect this limited resource of human-made H2O, the stratum corneum has several natural moisturizing factors (NMFs) to help it directly and indirectly retain water:
Dermo-pH’s Aqualife Line
This scientifically-based dermo-cosmetic line has been especially designed by our team of skin experts to target epidermal hydration. Each product within this all-natural skin care line is massaged into your skin via delicate liquid crystal emulsions to restore the correct water balance, ensure effective cleansing and deliver the best moisturizing action available in the industry today.
In keeping with our B-Corp certification status, all Dermo-pH products contain NO mineral oils, NO petroleum derivatives, NO synthetic dyes, NO added parabens, NO allergic scents and are alcohol-free and cruelty-free.
These are the products that Dermophisologique’s skin experts recommend you use as you turn back the clock one hour this fall (and, as a result, turn back time):

The science behind exfoliation
Cosmetic exfoliation is the removal of the outermost layer of skin cells on the stratum corneum. There are two main types of exfoliants: mechanical and chemical. As the names imply, mechanical exfoliants are comprised of micro-abrasive solid particles that work to gently slough off dead skin cells when the emulsion is gently massaged over the skin. Chemical exfoliants are comprised of functional substances, such as fruit acids, that have gentle exfoliating properties. An exceptional exfoliant product or routine will carefully balance and incorporate both types and leverage the best properties of each in order to alleviate or improve your particular skin condition.
Exfoliants help to slow down the aging process
The reason why exfoliation is an integral and essential part of a healthy and radiant skincare routine is because skin turnover is slowed down by the normal aging process (combined with environmental factors, of course). Similarly, the fibroblasts in the skin produce less collagen with age, causing the skin to lose its structural support. Hence, it becomes necessary to apply natural products to your skin that are exclusively developed to gently remove the dead skin cells and, simultaneously, restructure and nourish the skin barrier to allow the new cells to flourish.
Dermo-pH’s Peel Line
Dermophisiologique’s expert team of cosmetic-dermatologists have created a Peel Line system of products for face and body that directly targets these critical needs.
Resurface Night Cream
Did you know the highest levels of skin cell regeneration activity during the 24-hour daily cycle are recorded at night? That’s why the Dermo-pH skincare expert team created a regenerating face cream for nighttime that has a light, non-greasy texture that accelerates the natural overnight cell repair process. Dermo-pH’s Resurface Night Cream is suitable for all skin types and it is recommended that it be applied daily, coupled with Resurface Face Solution, as a gentle but effective nighttime exfoliating routine.
Resurface Face Solution
Dermo-pH’s Resurface Face Solution has light exfoliating properties and soothing ingredients which help to eliminate dead skin cells and impurities, stimulate cell turnover and improve skin compactness. Our experts recommend that it be applied after cleansing and before moisturizing on a daily basis in order to guarantee a brighter, more uniform complexion. It is suitable for all skin types.
Acid Body Scrub
Why should your face get all the love? Dermo-pH’s Acid Body Scrub is an all-natural scrub emulsion that is abrasive yet gentle enough to exfoliate and remove the dead skin cells that stay attached to your entire body. Its exclusive formula combines the mechanical action of plant-based micro-spheres with the chemical action of natural extracts (that are rich in phenols and polysaccharides) which deliver protective, hydrating action to your skin’s new cells.
Our Promise to You
In keeping with our B-Corp certification status, all Dermo-pH products contain NO mineral oils, NO petroleum derivatives, NO synthetic dyes, NO added parabens, NO allergic scents and are alcohol-free and cruelty-free.
]]>The term 'exfoliation' is used in the field of cosmetics to mean the removal of the outermost skin cells on the stratum corneum – dead cells that are starting to detach from the surface. The elimination of this layer rich in keratin and melanin helps remove pollutants and dead cells, and so restore correct skin turnover.
This process exposes a new layer of cells: the skin surface regains brightness and softness, while its natural color improves.
Exfoliation favors the removal of dead skin cells and impurities (make-up, dust and pollution) that tend to build up on the surface of the epidermis, speeding up dehydration and the loss of skin radiance. Exfoliation is recommended for:
- Dry, dull, scaly skin, as improved cell renewal after removing the dead skin cells helps keep the skin soft and hydrated.
- Impure skin or with imperfections, as the removal of dead skin cells helps clear the pores and prevent the appearance of impurities and comedones.
- Aging skin, where the cells remain on the stratum corneum for longer, giving rise to skin opacity.
- Skin suffering from hyperpigmentation due to age or external stimuli (excessive sun exposure, medication, inflammation or pregnancy). The removal of dead skin cells rich in melanin and keratin evens out the color of the skin.
- Scarred skin: the polishing action leaves the skin smoother and more uniform, reducing the depth of scars.
INTRODUCING RESURFACE FACE SOLUTION - With light exfoliating and smoothing ingredients
Our newest exfoliating solution is a mix of Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA) that helps eliminate dead skin cells and impurities, stimulate cell turnover and improve skin compactness--for a brighter, more uniform complexion.
Perfect for:
YOU EXFOLIATED--NOW WHAT?
What's more, exfoliating treatments facilitate the absorption of any other active principles applied immediately afterward (e.g., moisturizers, nutrients, emollients, depigmentation products or anti-age creams, etc.).
RENEW AND RECONSTRUCT THE SKIN WITH THE RIGHT MOISTURIZER
It is widely demonstrated that imbalances in the skin barrier can be caused by external factors such as excessive sun exposure, skin stress caused by external pollutants, aggressive cosmetics and/or medical beauty treatments (e.g., peeling, dermabrasion or the use of lasers).
Aesthetic dermatology treatments often involve the removal of the uppermost epidermal layers, resulting in a thinning of the stratum corneum and a reduction in the lipid component in the barrier. This causes an increase in TEWL (transepidermal water loss) and the onset of dry and sensitive skin that reacts to external stimuli, resulting in redness, flaking and irritation.
In each case, the various components of the skin barrier need to be restructured, by supplying the epidermis with products that contain the same functional principles as those that the skin cells absorb from the surrounding biological environment: fatty acids, lipid complexes and humectant molecules. In other words, RESURFACE action (epidermal restructuring), which favors the process of skin barrier renewal and reconstruction.
The highest levels of skin regeneration during the 24 hours are recorded at night.
In fact, the skin barrier follows well-defined rhythms: during the day, the skin cells are mainly engaged in defending themselves from the stresses posed by the external environment, such as UV rays, fine dust and jumps in temperature, which generate free radicals.
The mechanisms of cellular regeneration are more effective at night, when they repair the protective barrier and restore the ideal balance.
As we sleep, the epidermis works at full capacity, reaching its peak activity between 3 and 4 in the morning with an increase in the keratinization process. At the same time, dermal restructuring is more stimulated with an increase in the production of collagen and elastin.
INTRODUCING RESURFACE FACE CREAM - NIGHT
Regenerating face cream with a light, non greasy texture that favors the natural overnight cell repair process.
Innovative triple action formulation: activation of epidermal renewal, restructuring of the skin barrier and guaranteed optimal skin hydration.
Contains glycolic acid and malic acid which, when combined with lactobionic acid and gluconolactone, gently exfoliate and polish the surface of the skin, improving the appearance of wrinkles and expression lines. For a visibly brighter, well toned complexion. Ceramides and restructuring ingredients help preserve and protect the epidermis, and restore the damaged skin barrier. Hyaluronic acid, unsaponifiables of olive, wheat and soy, and a mix of skin compatible sugars make for intense hydration.
THE PERFECT DUO
Used together, our Resurface Night Cream and Resurface Peel Solution help to gently exfoliate, polish, restructure and smooth the skin for a bright and soft appearance.
]]>Spending a long day at the beach or walking around a new city all day are fun ways to spend your free time, as long as you remember to take care of your skin. Did you know that environmental factors (e.g., sun, pollution, radiation, smoke, other toxins) can be harmful to your skin and lead to the formation of free radicals? These free radicals can cause harm to your body by trying to snatch an extra electron from the atoms in your skin cells, which damages your skin’s DNA and can speed up skin aging.
Don’t worry, we can fight these free radicals!
This is where antioxidants come into play. Antioxidants are molecules in our cells that fight free radicals by giving up their electron (instead of your skin cells giving up theirs). In this way, your skin stays young because antioxidants help your skin fight damage and help you recover from the oxidative stress that is caused by free radicals.
