Uneven tone is usually the record of something that already happened. Years of sun. A pregnancy. A breakout that faded and left a mark behind. The pigment clusters, and it stays clustered long after the cause is gone.
This cream is built to even that out slowly, using four ingredients that work in different ways.
Arbutin and azelaic acid, held in cyclodextrin.
Cyclodextrin is a ring-shaped sugar molecule that acts as a tiny container. It holds the two actives, protects them from breaking down in the jar, and lets them out gradually rather than all at once. It is the reason this formula stays effective through the bottle instead of fading after a few weeks.
Sodium ascorbyl phosphate.
A stable form of vitamin C. Ordinary vitamin C oxidises quickly and stops working; this version holds up, and it helps skin look brighter and more even overall rather than only where the spots are.
Vitamin E.
The antioxidant, working alongside the vitamin C.
The texture.
Light and fresh, with jojoba oil and hyaluronic acid. It absorbs quickly and does not leave a film, which matters because this is a product you will be wearing under sunscreen every single day.
Gradual. Not overnight, and not in a week.
The brand's guidance is to use it consistently for at least two months before judging the result — which is roughly one bottle. Marks that took years to appear do not lift quickly, and any product promising otherwise is overselling.
- A more even-looking complexion
- Marks that look softer and less defined
- Brighter, fresher-looking skin overall
- A light finish that sits well under sunscreen and makeup
Morning and night, on clean skin. Apply to the areas that have gone uneven, massaging in with light circular movements until fully absorbed.
SUNSCREEN IS NOT OPTIONAL HERE
This is the part people skip, and it is the part that decides whether the cream works. Sun exposure is what darkens these marks in the first place. Using a brightening product without daily sun protection is emptying a bath with the tap running.
Wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day you use this, including days that are grey, and including days you are mostly indoors near windows.
Two months of consistent use, with sunscreen, is the honest instruction.
Dermatologically tested. PEG-free. Free from mineral oils, petroleum derivatives, synthetic dyes, added parabens and alcohol.
Made in Italy by Dermophisiologique, a certified B Corporation since 2015.
